Spice Design were retained by COLT to create a new Network Control Room console to replace the previous console design by Spice which had been outgrown by their rapidly expanding business. The Brief was to design a console based upon our modular approach to allow future additions for the next four years. This necessitated the provision of potentially 40 no 19″ screens, keyboards and c.p.u’s. The physical restrictions of space available within the proposed floor, meant that this would require a three tiered module.

The final solution provided full access to the near and front of each module for reloading and maintenance of all the kit within. Out photographs reflect a console which houses 24 monitors and keyboards with the total capacity of 39 of each, plus telephone and security cameras. We Believe this to be an exciting visual solution to cover our client’s requirements with a correctly ergonomic solution for the operator in the seated position to analyse all three levels of information on display to provide the service necessary to the growing demands and commitment to their clients now and for the next 3/5 years.
