Bank of America, Bromley

November 1st, 2006 by John Pepper

Bank of America, BromleyThe South Tower main entrance acts a reception for security access for over 500 data processing staff and corporate client visitors. Johnson Controls, the facility managers appointed Spice Design to head up a special project team to carry out a major upgrade to the entrance reception and lift lobby area.

Following the successful concept developed for the bank’s flagship branch at Alie Street in London. The colour scheme was adjusted following a presentation to senior bank management to provide a warmer, more friendly atmosphere to the reception, with improvements to lighting and new reception facilities generally.

The scope of project included terra-cotta colour venetian plaster to the walls, new marble floor with inset carpet tile rug detail, back illuminated green acid etched glass and maple reception desk and architrave surrounds to lift openings. The contract was carried out on a ‘fast track’ basis with the bank allowing ‘24 hour working’ closing the reception down for a period of 25 days from strip-out to handover.
