Spice Fusion

September 25th, 2009 by John Pepper

Spice was commissioned by Chand Miah, an award winning chef, to create an Indian restaurant with a difference. From an empty shell and a tired shop front the story began. Set in Biggin Hill amongst some well established Indian restaurants and stiff competition, this had to stand apart from the rest.

Spice Fusion, named by Spice Designer and Managing Director, Rog’ Butler, set about a design that made a huge impact on the High Street with an interior treatment to walls and ceiling combining both colour and form simply using plasterboard layers of varying colour, purple carpet and black gloss floor and wall tiling. Spice designed two features, 6mtr long high back couches, in purple velour with colourful Indian silk scatter cushions giving that sexy luxurious touch that the girls love.

The shop front was replaced with a feature goal post of purple cladding and all glass and steel facade, with white illuminated graphic.Spice Fusion opened in November 2008 at a cost of £150K.
