Jiway, Queen Street, City of London

September 30th, 2009 by John Pepper

Spice were commissioned to design the first electronic trading company.  This incorporated entrance hall with display screens and flexible open plan offices and storage modules.  The only fixed ideas were the boardroom and open plan kitchen, where visitors/clients investigating the market can enjoy a relaxed method of business, even a game of table football.

Spice, using a bamboo plank flooring, not been seen before, covered the whole floor area, allowing access runs to the false floor trimmed in steel, and incorporating recessed floor uplighters.  Budget £600K.

International Petroleum Exchange (IPE), London & New York Rep. Offices

September 30th, 2009 by John Pepper

Spice were commissioned initially to design reception, offices and seminar facilities in their St. Katharine’s Dock premises.  This style of interior was to set the flavour for all future offices; Spice visited New York and created a new office and meeting rooms continuing the style already created.  This was done in liaison with an American architect who took Spice’s drawings and implemented the same with their favoured contractor, with Spice overseeing the works.
